A feature documentary about the theft of a multi-million dollar Stradivarius violin.


Joel Van Haren / Director, Producer
Joel Van Haren is an award-winning journalist and Emmy-nominated cinematographer. Their cinematography has been featured extensively on Al Jazeera's Emmy and Peabody winning program, Fault Lines. Joel’s coverage of Cleveland's infant mortality crisis won the 2014 National Headliner Award for Health and Science reporting. Their work has been featured by BBC, The New York Times, The Players' Tribune, PBS and VICE. ‘Plucked’ is Joel’s directorial feature debut.  

Ryan Thomas Reeve /  Director of Photography, Producer
Ryan is a freelance filmmaker with cinematography featured on everything from BBC to ESPN. His editing work has received numerous Effie awards, while his music videos have been featured in film festivals and Consequence of Sound. Ryan graduated with honors in both Film Production and Film Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

kelly Michael anderson / Producer, Cinematographer
Kelly is a freelance cinematographer, editor and photographer. He’s currently the in-house media producer for Colectivo Coffee Roasters. His freelance work is focused on documentary, music video production and concert photography. Kelly is a Film and English Literature graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Chris James Thompson / Editor, Producer
Chris James Thompson began his filmmaking career underneath director Chris Smith with credits on 'The Pool', 'Collapse', and 'Suffering & Smiling'. His directorial feature debut 'The Jeffrey Dahmer Files' premiered in competition at SXSW, was acquired & released theatrically by IFC, and became a NYT Critic's Pick. He also directed 'MECCA: The Floor' for ESPN 30for30 which won an Emmy for Short-Format Series, and produced 'The 414s: The Original Teenage Hackers' which premiered at Sundance, was acquired by CNN Films, and premiered on The Anderson Cooper Show.  Chris most recently edited the feature films: ‘Pet Names’ (SXSW), ‘Plucked’ (Tribeca), and ‘Chasing Bubbles’.
